Mehateme provides both strategic and tactical support to the people management side of SOWA to help achieve its goals.

Prior to joining SOWA, Mehateme was Institutional Reform Program Director at Ethiopian Roads Authority and was responsible for institution-wide programs that established ground-breaking change initiatives. As Chief Human Resources Officer of ECX, one of the pioneers of modern commodity exchange trading platforms in Africa, he modernized HR systems to improve organizational capability. Mehateme has also served with Seattle Goodwill Job Training and Education and the Rainier Chamber of Commerce. Mehateme values working with a passionate team to create a positive and supportive culture that encourages people to do their best work every day.
